Our company recently completed another successful deployment of solar-powered 4G emergency call pillars along several major highways in Malaysia. Designed for high reliability and low maintenance, these systems provide essential roadside communication for drivers in need of assistance.
The project was carried out together with the local highway communication authority, who identified key installation points such as bridge sections, tunnel entrances, ramps, and areas with frequent accidents. Each emergency pillar is powered by a durable solar panel and a high-capacity lithium battery, ensuring continuous operation for more than five days even in extended periods of low sunlight.
With an integrated 4G wireless module, the pillars establish a direct connection with the highway control center. Drivers can press one button to immediately initiate an emergency call, while the center can remotely check device status and location in real time. During installation, our technical team worked during off-peak hours to minimize traffic interruption. After activation, the system automatically began charging, and all test calls confirmed stable network performance and clear voice communication.
According to the project lead, the solar-powered 4G design brings significant advantages by eliminating traditional cabling and external power needs. This reduces construction complexity and long-term maintenance requirements, making the solution ideal for remote, off-grid, or difficult construction environments such as highways, mountain routes, and tunnels.
The system also supports multilingual voice guidance and remote software updates, offering flexibility for different regions and user needs. Moving forward, our company will continue partnering with clients across Southeast Asia and Belt and Road countries to deliver dependable, energy-efficient communication solutions that enhance transportation safety and support the development of smart highway infrastructure.
